We exclusively treat small and domestic animals. These include companion animals like dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, other small mammals, and small birds. If you have questions about other animals, please contact us directly.
Yes, appointments are required for most treatments and examinations. However, in life-threatening emergencies, we are also available without an appointment. Please call us beforehand so we can prepare accordingly.
The necessary vaccinations depend on the species and age of your pet. Key vaccinations include those against parvovirus, distemper, hepatitis, parainfluenza, and leptospirosis for dogs; or cat flu and feline panleukopenia for cats. Rabies vaccination may be mandatory for travel. For rabbits, protection against myxomatosis and rabbit hemorrhagic disease is important. We are happy to advise you based on the individual needs of your pet and the current recommendations of the German Standing Committee on Vaccination in Veterinary Medicine (STIKO VET).
Yes, we are available during our opening hours for emergencies. Outside of these hours, we cooperate with a local emergency service (Weißenfels-Zeitz). For current information on the on-call clinic, please visit: https://www.
Generally, no special preparation is needed. For certain procedures such as blood tests, ultrasounds, or surgeries, your pet may need to come on an empty stomach. We will inform you in advance if this is the case.
We accept cash payments as well as card payments (debit and credit cards).
It’s completely normal for many animals to feel nervous or anxious. We take the time to treat your pet gently and calmly. If your pet is especially anxious, please let us know so we can make the visit as pleasant as possible. We also offer “happy visits” for puppies and young dogs to help them form positive associations with vet visits.
You can easily book an appointment by giving us a call. Alternatively, visit our website to request an appointment online (use the button below), or send us a message using the contact form on our website.
If you’re unsure whether your pet needs treatment, feel free to call us and describe the symptoms. We’ll gladly advise you and help decide if a visit is necessary right now or later.
Please notify us at least 24 hours in advance if you’re unable to attend your appointment. This allows us to offer the slot to another animal in need.
Yes, we perform soft tissue surgeries, including neutering, spaying, tumor removal, and dental treatments. Before every procedure, you’ll receive detailed information and counseling from our veterinarians.
If your pet requires surgery, we’ll discuss all necessary steps with you in advance. Typically, dogs and cats should fast before the procedure. Guinea pigs and rabbits, however, should continue eating. You’ll receive precise pre-op instructions tailored to your pet.
The frequency of deworming depends on several factors, including your pet’s age, lifestyle, health status, and the types of parasites to be treated.
To find out how often deworming makes sense for your pet, you can take a deworming quiz here: https://www.esccap.de/
We’re happy to advise you on your pet’s individual needs!
Heartworm prevention isn’t as common as you may know from the US, but we definitely recommend flea and tick prevention year round due to Babesiosis (tick-borne-disease) in dogs in Germany.
We are equipped with a digital X-ray machine and a modern ultrasound device for imaging. Additionally, we have an IDEXX in-house lab that allows us to measure key parameters such as blood counts and blood chemistry on the spot.
